Actuation Electronics

The prototypes of the actuation electronics are finally working!!!


The motors used for the actuation of ECCE draw very high currents in operation. For controlling those motors it was necessary to develop custom electronics.
The electronic boards will be distributed throughout the robot body. Equipped with a microcontroller and a CAN interface it is possible to go for a distributed control approach, where a lot of sensor and actuator preprocessing is already performed on the microcontrollers themselves to minimize the communication effort.
